Thomas E. Clarke

Thomas E. Clarke, 84, passed away July 23, 2025. He was the husband of the late Geraldine A. (Carroll) Clarke. Born in East Greenwich he was a son of the late Daniel T. and Catherine (O’Brien) Clarke.

Born and raised in Cranston, Rhode Island, Tom proudly served in the Army for a brief period in 1959.

He shared a loving home with his wife, Geraldine, for 53 years until her passing in 2022.

After a fulfilling career, Tom retired from Mahr Federal in Providence. Together, he and Geraldine were passionate genealogists, serving on the board of both the Rhode Island Historical Society and the Rhode Island Genealogical Society for over 35 years. Tom had a deep love for history and a zest for trivia, complemented by his great sense of humor.

A lover of all things sweet, he also had a special place in his heart for the many pets that blessed their lives over the years.

He is survived by three children Brian Clarke, James Clarke and Elizabeth Laatabi, six grandchildren and he was the brother of Danita, Beatrice and Walter.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, July 30th from 5-7 pm in the Fagan – Quinn Funeral Home, 825 Boston Neck Rd., North Kingstown UNDER THE DIRECTION OF THE HILL – SKEFFINGTON FUNERAL HOME OF EAST GREENWICH. His funeral and burial will be private.
