Thomas M. Post

Thomas M. Post, 48 of North Kingstown, RI passed away unexpectedly on Friday, October 8, 2021 in Fairhaven, MA.  He was born in Easton, PA and was the son of Patricia (Hollander) Post Talan (husband Herchell J. Talan) and Thomas R. Post, Jr. (wife Marie).  Besides his parents, he is survived by his loving children, Allison E. Post and Gabrien F. Post.  He was Papa to Laura Read.

Tom was the brother of Donna M. Post (husband James Krumme) of Ft. Lauderdale, FL and the late Thomas R. Post, 3 ^rd .

Tom was a nature lover.  He liked rambling through the woods, camping, hunting for edible mushrooms, and enjoying the magnificent outdoors.

Tom was like a fish out of water.  He learned the art of underwater diving from his father when he was a teenager.  His love of the water was immediate and his passion continued throughout his life.  Tom accompanied his dad to dive off Castle Hill for delicious lobsters.  He also worked on the large fishing boats for a time.  Recently, Tom was drawn to the sea trawling for sea clams on the trawler Lori Ann out of Fairhaven, Mass.  The pull of the ocean energized Tom no matter what the weather.  Tom went out for days on the trawler and stayed at sea for days until the dredge was full of sea clams.  Tom needed the sea for escape, for revival.  He felt a sense of peace and attachment when he was out on the ocean.

Tom passed on his love of the great outdoors to his children, taking every opportunity to share with them the beauties of this wonderful earth.  Tom will be sadly missed by his children, parents, family and friends, as well as by the ocean and waters themselves.

His funeral service will be held on Saturday October 16 ^th at 11:00 am at the Hill Funeral Home, 822 Main St., East Greenwich, RI. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 9:00 – 11:00 am. Burial will be private. A GoFundMe Page has been established https://gofund.me/66fca322 to aide Thomas’s family.
