Timothy G. Dutra

Timothy G. Dutra, 77, passed away July 21, 2024. He is survived by his wife of 55 years Carol J. (Thornley) Dutra. Born in Providence he was a son of the late Francis H. and Catherine (Devaney) Dutra.

Mr. Dutra worked for the State of Rhode Island in social services for 35 years. After retiring from the state, he spent several years working for a substance abuse recovery clinic in Rhode Island. He spent time in his retirement golfing, weekly lunch with friends from the YMCA, skiing with his wife and grandchildren, or simply enjoying time by his pool with family. Tim was also proud of his research for the Scituate Historical Society, and his service as a US Army Vietnam veteran.

Besides his wife he is survived by two sons, Jason S. Dutra and Justin T. Dutra; three grandchildren Nickolas M. Dutra, Austin T. Dutra and Elin P. Dutra and four brothers; Paul, Brian, Joseph and Devan Dutra.

His funeral and burial with military honors will be private.
