Virginia E. Butler

Virginia E. Butler 94, formerly of East Greenwich, RI, passed away December 21, 2018 at South Kingstown Nursing and Rehab in West Kingston, RI. She was the daughter of the late Robert Pierce and the late Nina Easton Pierce. She was the wife of the late Francis H. Butler and mother of the late Peter E. Butler.

Virginia was a technical order writer at ITT Hammel Dahl in Warwick for 25 years before retiring. She was an active member of the Academy Players club in Providence where she performed in many plays. She participated in East Greenwich Leisure Learning club, E.G Art club and the Narragansett Art club as well. She was an active member of St. Luke’s Church in East Greenwich R.I for many years where she served as a licensed Eucharistic Minister and a lay reader.

She is survived by a grand daughter Emily Lima and her husband Jeremy Lima and two great grandchildren Noah and Scarlet Lima of North Carolina.

Funeral service Saturday December 29 th at 10:00 am at St. Luke’s Church, Peirce St., East Greenwich. Burial will be in Quidnesset Memorial Cemetery, North Kingstown. Calling hours: Friday December 28 th from 6-8pm in the Hill Funeral Home 822 Main St., East Greenwich on In lieu of flowers to the East Greenwich Animal Protection League.
