Virginia Wilkinson

Virginia “Ginny” A. Wilkinson of North Providence, RI, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, at the age of 97. Ginny was born in Providence, RI, a daughter of the late Ernest and Helen (Fazzone) Petteruti, and graduated from Mount Pleasant High School in 1945. She had an extensive career as a secretary before marrying the love of her life, her late husband, Russell Wilkinson, with whom Ginny spent several wonderful years living in Swansea, MA and travelling.

In addition to her husband, Ginny is predeceased by her late sister Rita J. Varone. She is survived by her beloved nephew, Thomas Varone of Pawtucket, several cousins, and her cherished long-time friends, Connie McClurg and Diane Cardillo.

Ginny was an avid reader and loved to shop. She remained feisty into her nineties, and will be fondly remembered for her independence, wit and intelligence, strong opinions, knowledge of current affairs, fashion sense, and her sweet tooth – especially for pies and chocolate!
