Walter L. Phillips

Walter L. Phillips, 89 of North Kingstown passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 3, 2024, at South County Hospital.

He was born in Providence the son of the late Edmund and Jane (Swallow) Phillips.  He was the loving husband for 60 years to Mary (Ceccarelli) Phillips.  Also, the cherished grandfather of Alexandra Roberts, Samantha Germano, Gabriella and Jason Phillips and their mother Donna.  And the great-grandfather of Rylee and Sara Roberts.  He also leaves behind his sister Betsy Ruest of Kentucky and numerous nieces and nephews and his long-time friend Fred.

He taught for many years in Warwick after graduating from PC, URI and UCONN.  He was the treasurer of the SCRC Club and enjoyed building and flying planes.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, August 8, 2024, at 10:00AM at Our Lady of Mercy Church, 65 Third St., East Greenwich.  Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.  Visiting hours are respectfully omitted.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the North Kingstown Food Pantry at 445 School St., North Kingstown, RI 02852.
