Walton A. “Chick” Leach, Jr., age 73, passed away on October 15 th , 2018 at his home in Warwick, RI. He passed in the presence of family after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease.
Chick grew up in Cumberland, attended Moses Brown School and was a graduate of the University of Rhode Island in Engineering. He was most recently a Vice President at Stuller Settings in Lafayette, LA. Chick enjoyed success in business combining his technical expertise with his gregarious nature. While he lived and worked in various parts of the country including Kentucky, California and Louisiana, and the UK, he came back home in recent years to be closer to family.
Chick was an avid tennis player and a patron of the Louisiana IceGators Hockey Team. He liked all sports but also appreciated the arts and would often take his family to the theater. Chick enjoyed fine wines as well as the food and cultures of the various places in which he lived.
Chick is survived by his devoted wife of 24 years Teresa (Cerabona) Leach; his daughters Lisa Leach of West Warwick and Leslie Leach, and her husband Tim Garand of Foster; and brother David Leach of Cumberland.
Funeral Service Monday, October 22 nd at 9:30am at Greenwood Community Church, Presbyterian, 805 Main Ave., Warwick. Burial will be in Quidnessett Memorial Cemetery, North Kingstown. Calling hours: Sunday, October 21 st 5-7pm at the Hill Funeral Home, 822 Main St., East Greenwich.
