William B. "Bill" Tomaselli

94, of Providence, RI and Naples, Florida, left this world peacefully in his Providence home on Monday, October 22, 2018, with his family around him. Bill leaves his loving wife of 70 years, Ruth, and his daughter Sharon Tomaselli and her husband, Wayne Ransier. He also leaves the Ransier granddaughters Krista and Brittany, and Brittany’s children, Jayden and Lacey Anne. Born the son of the late Joseph and Thomasina Tomaselli, Bill proceeded his son Dennis in death. Having graduated from high school in 1942, Bill had his future defined for him with World War II raging in Europe. The War turned Bill into a combat-ready veteran when he served on a series of U.S. Navy ships in the Atlantic. Once Peace was declared, Bill enrolled in Rhode Island School of Design, from which he graduated with a B.A. degree in Industrial Design. He put his degree to use when he worked at Cahners Publishing Company in Boston and Newton, Massachusetts, rising to the position of Production Manager of the business-to-business monthly publication, EDN magazine, a mainstay of the electronics industry. In his younger years, Bill was an avid golfer; once he retired, he avoided the winter months by enjoying his home in Naples, Florida. Funeral services will be private.
