William "Bill" Harrington

died peacefully December 16, 2016 surrounded by family, including his wife of 61 years, Joan Harrington. Born in Providence in 1932, Bill and Joan raised their family of six children in Warwick, RI. They retired to the Caribbean island of St. Kitts over 20 years ago. An avid golfer, Bill taught golf to the youth of St. Kitts and greatly enjoyed the beauty of the island and the spirit of its inhabitants. Bill also enjoyed many summers at Bonnet Shores Beach Club in Rhode Island. Bill worked at the Lester Burdick Agency of Boston for 43 years, rising to the position of Vice President of Sales. Prior to his successful sales career, Bill was a First Lieutenant of Counter Intelligence. He was also a graduate of Providence College and La Salle Academy. In addition to his wife Joan and their six children, Francis, William, Robert, Catherine, John, and James, Bill had 15 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He is fondly remembered for his infectious laugh, fighting spirit, and devotion to his family. Relatives and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am on Saturday, April 22nd at St. Gregory the Great, 360 Cowesett Road, Warwick, RI. Burial will follow at St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
