William Francis Mueller

It is with great sadness that the family of Bill Mueller, age 62, announce his sudden passing on Thursday, August 8, 2024. Bill was loved greatly by many people: his four children, his fiancé, his siblings, his extended family and his many friends.

Bill was born in Willimantic, CT. He was the son of the late Warren and Nancy Mueller. Growing up, he loved sports, but particularly football. Bill went to high school in Lexington, MA. He was Co-Captain of the football team there. The Lexington High School’s football team was number one in the state, Bill’s senior year. Bill continued to play football for Boston College briefly, but his college football career ended after a shoulder injury. Bill left BC, and continued his education at Curry College, in Milton, MA, where he majored in Business and graduated in 1986.

Bill met Lisa Batcheller in New Hampshire. They married in 1996 on Block Island. Bill and Lisa had four beautiful children together and many good years. They lived and raised their children in East Greenwich, RI. They were married for 24 years.

After college, Bill worked for his father’s company- C&M Corporation, in Wauregan, CT. He started as a machine operator and worked his way up to CEO. The company was sold in 2008, and Bill retired in 2010. He stayed at home with his children and took care of them for many years.

Bill was devoted to his kids. They skied together all winter and spent many days wakeboarding and swimming at the Mueller family camp, on Beach Pond, in the summer. Summers were also enjoyed at the Batcheller family summer cottage in Mattapoisett. Bill also coached football, basketball and soccer teams, golfed, surfed and traveled with his children. Bill was very proud of all four of his children and he loved them unconditionally.

Bill enjoyed life and was involved with many interests. Other than skiing, golf and football; Bill enjoyed boating on the ocean. He grew up fishing for tuna with his father and continued to love the ocean and boating with his friends and family. Bill also loved music, and he was always up to see an old band, such as Neil Young. He also enjoyed the new music that his kids listened to, such as hip hop. Bill also loved his Harley Davidson motorcycle; particularly, rides on the back roads of Connecticut and Rhode Island.

Bill was engaged to be married to Fernanda DaSilva. They were planning to be married very soon. “Fe” made Bill very happy with her easy-going style, fun loving ways, beauty, kindness and consideration for others. Bill’s children really like Fe, along with his siblings and family. Fe is from Brazil, and was going to school in the US, when she and Bill met. Fe loved Bill unconditionally.

Bill recently moved to Providence, RI, where he lived downtown. He loved the city with its vibrant life and energy. New restaurants were always fun to try and the bike path was always on the list of things to do. He loved the view from his condo window on the 17th floor, the park nearby and the winter skating rink.

Bill leaves his four children, Billy, Jake, Nick, and Susie Mueller, of East Greenwich, RI. He leaves his fiancée, Fernanda DaSilva, of Providence, RI. Also, his sister, Sandra, and his brother-in-law, Greg Jonas, of Charlestown, RI; his sister, Doreen and his brother-in-law, Jim Sauve, of Marlborough, CT; his sister, Kathy and his brother-in-law, Mark Vincent, of South Kingstown, RI. Bill also is survived by his former wife, Lisa Mueller, of East Greenwich, RI. In addition, Bill leaves his many nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.

Grief is the price we pay for love. We will always carry Bill’s memory in our hearts. Life will never be the same again, but we were blessed to have Billy in our lives. In the fabric of our lives, he was a gold thread.
