90, of Urban Avenue, Pawtucket passed away to eternal life on Thursday, January 24, 2019 at Hope Hospice Care Providence. He was the son of the late Anthony Silva, Sr. and Constantina Costa Silva.
He is survived by his loving wife of 71 years, Melina (Pezza) Silva, and four children: Judith Allen and her husband Robert of Nashville, TN, William Silva, Jr. of Pawtucket, Susan Shortall and her husband Thomas of Richmond, ME and Lisa Fagundes and her husband Anthony of Cranston; three grandchildren: Heather Aquino and her husband Julio Aquino of Deltona, FL, Jennifer Fagundes of North Providence, and Anthony Fagundes, Jr. of Cranston; six great-grandchildren: Jaedon Aquino, Gianna Arcuri, Jordan Aquino, Frankie Arcuri, Jr., Gian Aquino and Harley Fagundes. He was predeceased by 9 siblings and survived by his sister Alice Licciardi. He also leaves his best friend, his dog Coco.
He was a life-long butcher and worked at Selkirk Packing in Providence, Ken Baker's Farm in Swansea and Johnson's Dressed Beef in Johnston. He also worked with his son-in-law Anthony Fagundes, Sr. in the funeral removal business: Emmanuel Transfer Service.
Relatives and friends are invited to a mass of Christian burial at Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, 1081 Mineral Spring Avenue, North Providence on Monday, January 28th at 11:30am followed by internment in Highland Memorial Park Cemetery in Johnston, RI.
Calling hours in the J.F. Skeffington Chapel, 925 Chalkstone Avenue, Providence on Sunday from 4:00-8:00pm.
